In this modern day, technology is improving and advancing every day. It is common to see the mobile phone, laptop and other new electronics that keeps developing to connect people all around the world. During this pandemic situation, we can see that all students must do the online classes in their home using the internet. From this they can see that the internet has been very impactful for them.
And because of those new innovation is created. It gains so much attention because of their usage that’s why it is addicting for them and more of all is because of this thing name INTERNET (interconnected networking) in other words it is where and how it connecting people all round the world in this modern day and during this pandemic situation like students. As Barry M. Leiner, Vinton G.Cerf, David D. Clark, Robert E. Kahn, Leonard Kleinrock, Daniel C. Lynch, Jon Postel, Larry G. Roberts, Stephen Wolff points out in their article Brief History of the Internet (1997), “The Internet has revolutionized the computer and communications world like nothing before. The invention of the telegraph, telephone, radio, and computer set the stage for this unprecedented integration of capabilities. The internet is at once a worldwide broadcasting capability, a mechanism for information dissemination and a medium for collaboration and interaction between individuals and their computer without regard for geographic location and The Internet today is a widespread information infrastructure, the initial prototype of what is often called the National (or Global or Galactic) Information Infrastructure”. And as mentioned above it is “widespread” and “addicting” so we should know how to use internet in a better way to prevent things that we doesn’t want it to happen.
First of all, connecting people is a good thing because they can manage by themselves by searching for what they want and need. Not only that internet can help them learning without having to meet up especially in this pandemic situation and its lower our pressure because sometimes if we do face to face we can get nervous. For example, the most known application Youtube you can find any kind of video and knowledge by streaming them online and you even can earn some profit for uploading video on YouTube platform or for all students they can repeat the meeting video by using some application like Zoom, Microsoft teams and etc. if they are don’t understand about the theory and that is make students feel easy for understanding the theory in this situation. This is why internet is important in this era and why it gain so much attention? because it is worldwide and we never had known what happened on the worldwide.
Not only that, the world most popular search engine that everyone know is GOOGLE. Everyone can find all kinds of things they want on there. By searching using specific keyword they can get any information they want on google because of its enormous worldwide google is updating every single time they are quick and efficient. Imagine how things is spread all around the world just by clicking a button. Without internet we won’t even have YouTube, google and other application that can make our life easier. And since we talked about application social media like youtube and website searching like google. Now it is about online education, there is many platforms for education on the internet as we can see and what we have done right now is doing online education. Thanks to internet in this pandemic situation that we can learn, gathering, meeting and etc. This we know that internet is easy and convenient for all peoples. But because of its easy and convenient it can cause so much trouble. There are tons of cases every year that most of it is about Cybercrime and because of addicting and they can find any information they want that can lead them learning and doing bad thing by using or streaming any illegal website and illegal application. I know that internet is so impactful for all people especially for students. But internet has their own security that not everyone can break, as mentioned above internet is evolving, improving, and advancing.
Internet itself is created for helping us people to connecting people around the world and get to known more. Actually it depends on how we use it. And from this that we can ask for all parents to accompany and to ensure their children when they access the internet for the right site and must to teach or giving a good understanding about the positively or negatively impacted of using the internet. Just imagine that without internet, do we know things about outside around the world? Do we still can do this online education right now?
But in future internet will be more needed because all of the thing we need is just a simple tap that can easily get through anything. Just like IOT in 2030, they predict that future internet can be useful for them because we want anything easy, we don’t want to exhaust on energy we give, so we create something more modern. For example, the famous android also has a great feature all around. Same thing with iphone and other phone. They will always expand the internet system while the world still spinning and going.
